Public Notice: Proposed Electricity Byelaws by PUC

In exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Sections 7 and 13 of the Belize Electricity Act, Chapter 221 of the Laws of Belize, and all other powers thereunto enabling, the Public Utilities Commission (hereinafter referred to as “the Commission) hereby serves Notice this day, May 10, 2017, to the public that the Commission intends to make Electricity Byelaws with the approval of the Minister of Public Utilities to provide for the classification and granting of LICENSES and CONSENTS and for the INTERCONNECTION of power systems for persons authorized to generate, transmit and supply electricity under licenses granted by the Commission.

Comments: Interested Parties, including licensees, and members of the public are invited to submit written comments on the Proposed Byelaws by June 9, 2017.

Agreement to Establish Service Connections to forty houses in La Gracia Village, Cayo

Belmopan Tuesday March 7th 2017, the Ministry of the Public Service, Energy and Public Utilities and the Solar Energy Solutions Belize (SESB) of Belmopan signed an article of agreement to establish service connections for power stations to forty (40) houses and installation of wiring of the said forty (40) houses in La Gracia Village in the Cayo district. Signing on behalf of the government of Belize is Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of the Public Service, Energy and Public Utilities Dr. Peter Allen and signing on behalf of Solar Energy Solutions Belize is Director of Sales & Operations Silvan Kuffer. Service connections is expected to commence immediately.

Agreement Contract for the Installation of a total of Sixty (60) Solar Led Street Lights

Belmopan Tuesday March 7th 2017, the Ministry of the Public Service, Energy and Public Utilities and Hubert.L.Usher & Sons Construction of Dangriga Town signed an article of agreement contract for the Installation of a total of Sixty (60) Solar Led Street Lights. The distributions of the Solar Led Street Lights are as follows:

- San Ignacio Town (10)

- San Narciso (10)

- Belize City (40)

Signing on behave of the Government of Belize is Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of The Public Service, Energy And Public Utilities Dr. Peter Allen and  Signing on behalf of Hubert L. Usher & Sons Construction was  Arthur Usher installation will commence at the start of the coming week.
